Vintage 1950s Welch Margetson English Silk Scarf Mens Square 36 Inch roses Among their customers were KirkThis is a lovely quality silk scarf made by the venerable London firm of Welch, Margetson & Co. Ltd. Welch Margetson was founded in 1824 by Joseph Welch and specialized in the manufacture and retailing of high quality menswear it closed its doors in 1963, but I believe that the brand was revived more recently for neckties. The scarf was made for S. W. Howarth of Montreal, which was a popular haberdasher. The scarf features repeating paisley motifs
