Liberty would use woodcuts to print each colour one at a time - the more colours and the more complicated the pattern

but meant to hang somewhat loosely

This is a very nice quality sweater that should last a  long time with proper care - very pretty color

The girl is wearing a checked dress and has a daisy and a pigtail applied onto the print as well as a couple of beads. It is made in a classic polo style, although not really a polo short sleeves, small collar, notched opening, but with no buttons, and small notches at the bottom of either side. Label: M
