with the 2011 Flaccianello della Pieve appearing a bit softer and plumper around the midsection

(a little known 1er that sits directly above Chambertin-Clos de Bèze made from vines planted in 1973)

Once again there is just enough wood to point out along with hints of menthol

Far less impressive after bottling than it was from cask

Domaine Chevalier Blanc Vintage:2005 This is more concentrated andThere are reductive, flinty touches to the nose its still extremely young with green and red apple notes and some clear slate and wet stone minerality. The palate widens as it opens in the glass, deepening and revealing nectarine and stone fruit flavours. Its an excellent wine in a year that keeps on delivering right through the palate and hangs on for more.
