There is a V shaped back neckline that is embroidered underneath the opening

The front of this antique vest is made of a fine woven black wool while the back of the vest is made of plain black satin with an adjusting belt at the lower back

although the lapels are pressed so that only the two lower buttons should be buttoned - there are three buttons at the end of each sleeve

The earrings are made in a similar leaf form

The pattern is quite ornate, featuring sunflowers and fruit in an urn in front of a paisley background. The colours are very rich, in tones of ochre gold, red, green, orange and black.
