Antique RMS Franconia Steamship Tea Strainer Silverplated Cunard Line carlls opera house wonderful 1960s mod handbag styleThis is a silver plated tea strainer used on the RMS Franconia, a passenger steamship operated by the Cunard Line. The first RMS Franconia was built in 1910 and was taken into service as a troop carrier during WWI in 1915, and sunk in 1916 after being attacked by a U Boat. The second RMS Franconia was launched in 1922, but only made her maiden voyage in 1923. After service during the war, she was returned to passenger service before being retired in
