He already ran a successful store that focused on toys and children's furniture when he decided to focus solely on toys. And he was right. The chain became an international hit with more than 1,500 stores worldwide. It didn't last, sadly, as Toys "R" Us filed for bankruptcy in 2017, but the nice memories are still there.
