The band was formed by bassist Krist Novoselic and guitarist singer Kurt Cobain. The two ran through a long line of drummers before landing on Dave Grohl in the early 90s after they released their debut album Bleach. With their new lineup in tact, the trio went on to release Nevermind on DGC in 1991. The album was a massive sea change. The hair metal bands of the late 80s were obsolete nearly
