The band, which featured two singers and was centered around a crew of the same name, took their name from the Richmond area code, 804. Despite having a small discography and being short lived, they left an important mark on Richmond hardcore the Richmond bands of the early 00s which became nationally recognized acts were all indebted to them, Barfight even took their name from a Hate O Four song.
